Track is being built at Maymorn station, including our future mainline and loop tracks, along with points and yard track leading into the rail vehicle shed.
We've made a start on building our future mainline track at Maymorn. Track has reached the 150-metre mark and plans are afoot to extend it to the Kaitoke end of our Maymorn site.
Over the past few months we have been working on extending our mainline past the Maymorn Metlink station. The mainline heads through an 8 degree curve, and will pass through a right-hand turnout at the top of the crossing loop and press on further east in due course. The turnout is being assembled in our workshop yard. On completion the turnout will be relocated to the railhead.
News to share on our key projects. Our volunteers have put in a lot of time over the winter months, including upgrading yard track that will connect to the workshop, rust repairs for the cab of Ohai Railway Board No.1, repairs and repainting two of our fleet of ballast wagons, Gumdigger carriage frame repairs plus some essential rail vehicle shed work.
