Winter 2022 news roundup
A brief article of photos that show some of the project work progressed over winter 2022.
Carriages
The restoration of carriage A 1328 has continued apace over summer, boosted by the donation of a complete set of replacement window lights. Once the windows have been fitted there are just a few key tasks to complete, including fitting a set of seats, further mechanical and commissioning checks. The Trust plans to have the carriage in operation at its regular monthly Operating Days in mid-2022.
Grateful thanks to:
Restoration work has been progressing steadily since carriage A 1328 was added to our fleet in July 2020. External tongue and groove timber cladding has been cleaned down and repainted, rotten and missing lengths of T&G and trim timbers replaced. The carriage is looking much improved with two coats of Resene Super Gloss "JalapeƱo" red enamel.
Carriage A 1328 is a recent arrival at Maymorn. The car is in remarkably good condition and after a modest amount of restoration work it will return to service on our railway.
