Wb 299 cab and bunker reconstruction

The cab and bunker of steam locomotive Wb 299 have received a lot of attention over the past couple of months, the front and both side sheets of the bunker in place and the whole assembly mounted on a "cab board".

Track work - March 2019

Over the weekend of 9 - 10 March 2019 we loaded six ballast wagons, getting ready for track work planned over the Autumn and Winter months. We're planning to upgrade our 'road 4' track alongside the rail vehicle shed, with a view to its increased use - placing vehicles into the workshop shed, and for our regular monthly operating days.

Steam locomotive restoration work February 2019

During the warm summer months we took the opportunity to tidy up Baldwin steam locomotive boilers and tank components from Wb 292 and Wb 299.

Work in progress - December 2018

The interior of our rail vehicle shed has been transformed over the past couple of months, with hard fill compacted into place and concrete floors laid.

During July and August 2018 we have concentrated on finishing internal lining for our workshop shed.

FRONZ conference visit 4 June 2018

FRONZ 2018 conference delegates made a visit to our railway for a train ride, workshop tour and lunch on Monday 4 June 2018, during their tour of heritage

Work continues on rebuilding the cab for 1898 Baldwin steam locomotive Wb 299.

Replacement boiler for Ab 745

After months of planning and fundraising, a replacement boiler has been secured for steam locomotive Ab 745. Delivered to Maymorn in October 2017, opportunity taken to relocate its original boiler and two Wb boilers.
